Old AllSim vs. New AllSim

Hello people! What up? I'd like to note that this is NOT A
POST INTENDED TO START A FIGHT

I just wanted to hear some of your guy's opinions on this whole
pickle we've gotten ourselves into. The way I see it is that there
are now two AllSim Arenas which is sort of annoying from my
perspective. Megs has now officially given this one the okay but
still remains a scarce prescence in the actual world of SIM. B/C of her
abscence there has been a lot of debate on the validity of this
board. Aquarius I assume is eager to hand over power to Megs...
as she has stated, but when will Megs come back? Should the
first board remain open or closed? Would it be alright to have both
boards remain up?

My idea is this: Let's incorporate them both into one main thing somehow...
maybe the Old AllSim could be like an express announcement
board b/c posts seem to dissapear so fast there. I denno, there's
gotta be some way this can WORK! LOL, so let's hear your ideas!

Anyways, nobody WANTS to change-it's hard to change for one thing. Once someone else who is either well respected or has been in SIM awhile decides they wanna buck the trend-then it spreads to everyone else. It's going to be hard to have two boards open that are SUPPOSED to serve the exact same purpose. I just want everyone to consider the nice features of this board and compare it to the boardhost one...another thing, while I think that Megs is a great person and I think she's really nice-and because of extenuating circumstances, she is not able to get on the computer often and certainly does not have the time to update and fix the problems. I do have some time, and with some moderators, at least it can be kept updated and that sort of thing.

And a note to everyone-should megs get back online and want this board-it is HERS. I take NO ownership of this board. If she doesn't like the mods I have chosen (Though I don't know why lol-I have about 12 applications from people that all sound very responsible and mature as well as well respected, so I'm not sure why she would change)-anyways, if she doesn't like them she is certain completely FREE to change them.

You NEED someone to help settle and delete the fights, and keep the header updated. I'm not trying to take control over it. I've done very few things-set the board up, added the rules and links table to the header, and got a few mods. Nowhere did I say that allsim belonged to me or ever will belong to me. I do not even WANT it-too much stuff to do! But with the cooperation of everyone including Megs and EVERYONE-this board can be really great.

That isn't the point. It does NOT belong to you and won't until Megs say so. This is her board. And megs is "back" she simply doesn't have access to the computer. I wish you would understand that it's not going to happen. This board belongs to everyone, but ultimately MEGS. Not you. Not me. Not anyone except MEGS.

Megs has been notified and you should all by now have read the e-mail reply back. She said she would be willing to move AllSim here, & take on mods for help. These are HER WORDS. You've heard it from her herself! It's not that hard!

Aq has said way to many more times then needed she is not taking over AllSIM! It's Megs, we are jsut helping her out until she can get back on the computer. Stop saying Aq is taking over AllSIM cause she's not! There's no other way she can say it to get it through.

So about this whole Mods thing-Megs said she'd "love to take on two to four mods or co-admins to run it
for the time periods I can't be around." THat quoted straight from her reply. If we voted, it'd take way to long, and wouldn't do any good. Besides some, don't even know each other enoguht to vote. By Aq carefully evaluating each of us, she's assuring bad things will be prevented, and things will be up to date. That's why.

Now guys please let's just enjoy SIM. Stop bringing up all of this Old vs New board stuff. I'm tired of it, and so are others. It's pointless, and another thing-NOT REAL LIFE! Don't take it so seriously! Megs has talked, and so have we, and things are good. Now we need to just leave it alone.

*Sorry if this comes off as rude or that bad, but I'm home sick from school, sick of hearing about this, and sick of Aquarius being torn down by people (most of which don't even know her well). *

No one seems to be capable of having a discussion about this without
fighting or getting angry at one another. It's very discouraging to see.
All of us our intelligent people (I believe) and we should be
able to talk about this without bickering.

Okay...so:
Aquarius has not stolen the board...simply improved upon it. But unfortunately, not everyone thinks it was her right. She is however
planning on given it back. SO THATS OUT OF THE WAY!

Here's my real question to you guys (REGARDLESS OF WHO IS PICKING WHO AS A MODERATOR OR WHATEVER):

What are we going to do about two AllSims? Should be just keep
having two? Or is there some way we could incorporate the two?
Or whatever... Maybe the best idea is just to keep two boards
until Megs can get online and actually close one or the other.

I basically just reiterated what Shannon said. Sorry guys...lol. I didnt read her post thoroughly enough. Okay then, we've discussed it. Let's just wait for Megs and move on. :-)

Guys, I did NOT mean it that way. What I meant was is that without someone taking charge since Megs can't then things could get messes up. I think it is good that Megs let Aq help her. I did not mean I thought Aq was taking over. Sorry if it sounded that way.

I think the only way for this board to become the "official" centre of SIM is for those who like it to simply avoid the old one, as difficult as that is.

I personally have stopped using the old board, though I'll admit, in this transitional period, I do still check it. However, when I have a big auction or announcement, I'll be posting it on this board.

However, I might post a message on the old board with something along the lines of "Ivy Creek Farm Dispersal Sale going on now! Check out the new AllSIM (http://allsim.proboards3.com/) for details!"

This kind of activity is the best way to make this board really take off. It forces those opposed to come here if they don't want to miss out on something good. Just my opinion!

I've been to the old board a few times! I like this one better. The old one should be an announcement board!
