So, let's see... My name is Kili, which is actually a different spelling of my REAL name: Keely... My SIM name comes from what would be the Spanish spelling of my name, and it also comes from what my Spanish teacher (who is like an aunt to me, I adore her) calls me: Kilita...
So, basics about me. I'm 15 (16 on May 8) and I'm a Junior in a boarding highschool in Southern California. My family lives in Phoenix, and that's where I am right now (Spring Break... It's 95 degrees [F] here... bah). I'm about 5'9", but still growing (supposed to be 5'11") and uh... yeah.
I've been riding since I was seven, but it was pretty much on and off until I hit about 10, when I found a good trainer who worked with me (oh, the patience she must have had -- I was terrible) and I rode several different horses, including an older 3/4 Arab, 1/4 Standardbred Mare, Kisses, and an Appendix Mare, Moonshine. Now, I'm at a boarding school that basically is a ranch, with 180 horses and 250 students. All freshmen are required to ride, so I rode a little Mexican Mountain pony (I was 4'11" at the time) named Little Twist(Twister). Second semester, my Paint gelding, Keno traveled out to be ridden by me. I rode him all through Sophomore year as well. He's a red roan overo, and a grandson of Far Ute Keno. He's SUPER behind the leg, but SO comfortable bareback... Unfortunately, it got to the point, at the end of last year, where Keno really couldn't go any farther, and I needed to, so we donated him to the school, and now he enjoys a life of plodding around with new students on his back, and for some reason, he seems to love it.
These days, I have a Hanoverian gelding named Davidoff (I don't know if he's actually registered Hano, or what his lineage is, though he came from Germany and my trainer, who rode him a bunch of years ago, says he's a Hano -- stupid former owner lost the papers). Davi is... special. He hangs his tongue, BADLY. On top of this, he's 17.2 hands, give or take, and he's VERY territorial, especially when it comes to food, as he was somewhat underfed for the past few years. Not badly, but enough to make him cranky. He's somehwere in the range of 17 years old, and plays the part of a grouchy old man very well, but is a teddy bear once you get past that. He used to do Grand Prix Dressage and Showjumping, but now I show IEA crossrails, and I'm going to the IEA Nationals in May... With Davi (if we could ever GET to a show... gr..) I'm jumping 3 feet-ish (our standards are very bad) consistently, and could probably go quite a bit higher. He's always willing, even on a terribly rainy day or when he's just faceplanted over a jump...
So, anyway, that's probably way more than you EVER wanted to know about me, but here's a few other things:
I have two siblings, two parents (still married, but they're also married to their work, so... yeah) and a little shih tzu named tolkien (a family of fantasy/sci-fi lovers, maybe? Well, dad, brother, and I anyway). I'm taking an intro-to-vet-med course at school using the school's horses, and it's been a lot of fun... I got an 'A', lol, so hopefully this bodes well for the future (either that, or the teacher just likes me, lol). I want to go into Vet Med or equine science (my friends, who also ride, say that they can picture me as a barn manager, because I'm bossy, and I would chew out anyone who didn't take care of the horses right, lol... then again, they've never seen my mom in action, I'm nothing compared to her, lol) and my parents would most definitely prefer Vet Med. They don't consider anything involving managing or training horses to be a career, to them, that's a "hobby"... RIIIIGHT... Anyway, I also write a lot, poetry, fiction, non-fiction (can you tell? lol) and I listen to such bands as Linkin Park, Goldfinger, Three Days Grace, and Weezer, among others, if anyone was interested...
anyway, I should probably get going, and no one wants to read this much about me anyway, so... bye!
